Our Story
From Nicaragua to Miami
In 1994, Abuelita Chela packed her recipes, her cast iron pans, and her heart into a suitcase and left Nicaragua for a new life in Miami. What she couldn't leave behind was the taste of home.
What started as a small kitchen cooking for family and neighbors has grown into one of Miami's most beloved Nicaraguan restaurants. But the soul of our food has never changed. We still use the same recipes, the same techniques, and the same love that Abuelita Chela brought with her over 30 years ago.
Today, the next generation carries her legacy forward, serving authentic fritanga, nacatamales, vigoron, and all the flavors of Nicaragua to our Miami community. When you eat at Chelas, you eat at our family's table.
